Below all Information for different decking materials, ideas and information regarding all our work that we do.
- Merbau Decking is a durable timber decking material highly suitable for all open-air uses. It is very stable and resists shrinking, whether subjected to water, moisture or heat.
- Treated Pine Decking is treated with an ACQ treatment, making it safe to use in all applications. It is also available in set lengths of 3.6/4.8/5.4m to make it easier to use. This deck is a very affordable decking solution.
- Spotted Gum Decking has a lower tannin content than other decking options, making it ideal for areas where staining is a concern. For example, around a backyard pool. Spotted Gum is naturally bush fire resistant, durable and is one of the hardest timbers in Australia with proper maintenance you can expect up to 40 years!
- Blackbutt Timber Deck. Barwon Timber’s Queensland Blackbutt decking is pale brown to blonde in colour with some light pink hues. It has a medium and even texture, a straight grain, and will have some gum vein features. This beautiful decking will not only look great but will also last for many years with minimal maintenance.
- Composite Decking. Composite lumber is a material that is a mixture of wood fiber, plastic, and some type of binding agent. These ingredients are put together to form a material that is denser, stronger, and heavier than wood alone, a wood-plastic composite.
A pergola is an outdoor structure formed by an arrangement of vertical posts or pillars that support beams or sturdy open lattice. Some are attached to the side of a house or garage, while others are freestanding. These outdoor features are typically made from weather-resistant wood, metal, or stone.
Timber pergolas offer an attractive and economical way to create functional living and entertainment areas in the outdoors. Pergolas designed with care can maximise both winter sunshine and summer shade, ensuring outdoor living is enjoyed all year round.
Timber pergolas also have the advantage of being timeless and versatile, giving you many different style options.
Wood is usually less expensive than metal pergolas, allowing the upfront cost to be lower.
Some popular design options for timber pergolas include classic, modern, and rustic styles.
Additionally, timber pergolas can be stained or painted in various colours to match the aesthetic of your home and personal style preferences. Whether you prefer a natural wood finish or a bold and vibrant colour, there is a timber pergola option to suit your needs.

To renovate is to reinvigorate, revive and make new. When we renovate a property we are generally turning it into something new. This might include include taking out walls, dividing rooms and/or converting rooms for a new use. It relates much more to the structure of a building.
In the building industry the term ‘extension’ means to extend an existing property; to extend its overall floor size. Basically, it means to add another room or make a room larger whilst remaining at ground level.
